However, I've ben reading a lot of third party app makers who want to tie into the health app have been stalled (or are releasing their app minus the link to the health app on the iPhone) because of issues.

And it syncs that data with the Apple Health app, and with a calorie counting app I use.. Health doesn't automatically add a chart for cycling, so the data may be in there but "hidden". Look under health data, fitness, cycling distance in the Health app. If it isn't there, try un-linking Strava and linking again, that fixed it for me. An iPhone cycling app list without Strava would probably give away our lack of experience in this field. Kidding. This seems very odd since years ago Apple publicly claimed that the Health app would automatically know the difference between walking, cycling, etc. and track accordingly. I found many people complaining about this in forums and the only "solution" I've read is to install a 3rd party app such as iBiker.
